Some new details about Pokemon Sword and Shield were revealed today that shed some light on the Galar region. Firstly, a select number of Pokemon will have Galarian Forms, a mechanic very similar to Alolan Forms from the Generation 7 games. Revealed were Galarian Weezing, Galarian Zigzagoon, Galarian Linoone, and a new evolution in the Zigzagoon family: Obstagoon.
In addition to Galarian Forms, there was another form-changing Pokemon revealed: Morpeko. This Electric/Dark mouse-like pokemon will have a Full Belly mode and a Hangry mode. The mode will affect the typing of some of Morpeko's moves.
Two new rivals were also revealed: Bede and Marnie. A new team was shown as well: Team Yell. The design is very goth/punk and they are described as Marnie's biggest fans, who appears in a similar style.
Not shown in the trailer was a new mechanic called Poke Jobs. This mechanic allows you to send Pokemon on quests where they will level up and collect rare items. Different Pokemon are better suited for different jobs.
