For years, many have wanted Minecraft to arrive on Nintendo platforms, and today, that wish was granted. Many people like myself have wanted Minecraft, and now it is officially headed to Wii U next week! The popular building block game already on most platforms such as PS4, Xbox One, PC, smart phones, and many other consoles will now be on a Nintendo platform for the first time. Keep reading after the break for more information on Minecraft: Wii U Edition!
The game will be released on the Nintendo eShop next Thursday, December 17 for a cost of $30, but while that may seem like a hefty price, what is included in the purchase helps it. The game will feature off TV-play, a feature in many Wii U games allowing you to continue playing the game on the Wii U Gamepad rather than playing it on your television screen. Also included in the purchase are multiple skin packs and textures like a Battle & Beasts Skin Pack, a Natural Texture Pack, and a City Texture Pack. Nintendo and Mojang will also be cooperating together to create more content for the game, "to be released at a future date." There will also be 16 add-on packs available at launch, including Star Wars Packs, a Simpsons Pack, and a Skyrim Mash-up Pack. So what do you say, are you excited for Minecraft: Wii U Edition? You can buy it next Thursday, December 17 for $30, or just wait until Christmas to get it! You can also take a look at the full press release below.
